The Furnace Wall Empty
PostSubject: The Furnace Wall   The Furnace Wall EmptyMon Jun 03, 2013 12:25 pm

The person renting our basement complained about the furnace / central ac unit making too much noise. I Also didn't like having the system with nothing around it to protect it. So.....I built a wall on wheels!

Here's what the furnace looks like without the wall:

The Furnace Wall Am66bmV

And here's how it looks with the wall:

The Furnace Wall VeNw72f

Much quieter, and it's more protected now. Also it looks a lot nicer than having a furnace out in the open. If we need to get at the furnace to fix something we can just wheel the right angle wall out of the way.

Did you use some kind of sound insulation inside the '' Wall on wheels?'' Like Sonopan or Roxul wool?

I wonder If this would not cause some parts of the furnace to overheat though.

No insulation yet. I honestly don't think it's very noisy with that wall there, just the guy renting our basement is kinda picky.

this is a nice job, but i just noticed that it looks like you have the drain pan hose going to a plastic container.
you probably should put a pump on that so you dont have to empty the bin all the time.

There's a pump there I just took that pic before putting the pump back. I was cleaning the pump when I took that picture.
