RGB NES / Famicom s-video upgrade Empty
PostSubject: RGB NES / Famicom s-video upgrade   RGB NES / Famicom s-video upgrade EmptySat Jan 26, 2013 6:51 pm

I've come up with a number of tweaks for the s-video circuit on the upgrade kit. The most popular tweak is upgrading the video encoder to the sony cxa2075 which produces sharper s-video with (in my opinion) better looking colours. I built a circuit that divides the system master clock signal down to drive the video encoder removing any colour bleeding. Also recently I found that adding a stronger resistor on chroma gets rid of this strange interference I was experiencing. Here's how it currently looks on my tv:

RGB NES / Famicom s-video upgrade Rockman52

You should try improving the svideo quality on other systems, such as the Saturn or playstation.

I only do it for systems I care about. The saturn I do care about but not enough to bother with it. Right now I'm busy teaching myself how to romhack a rom file and translate it from japanese to english.
