| I think I may have been bidding against someone else who is looking for your services. I saw someone ask if the PPU chip was still on the PCB. I'm trying to grab a board for sub $60 before shipping and missed three auctions last night. I'll have to keep looking | |

| What I did was I emailed all the sellers who were selling playchoice items and asked if they had any broken boards. About half of the of the sellers didn't have anything, but half did. The half that did, only one person was cool enough to actually sell me one. I threw out $40 shipped and he accepted! | |

| I'm really happy because I think I can sell the board without the PPU for $30 ish, maybe more. So After everything is all said and done, I will have the chip I need for $10 or so. | |

assuming the chip works. I just built a system for someone and his chip is glitching slightly.

| Its a good thing you have spare chips. I would be tearing my hair out trying to troubleshoot this type of minor, but noticeable, problem. | |

Yeah well this's the first chip I've come across that does this so I think something's borked with the chip. These glitches are too small for it to be a bad connection or wiring issue.

| I got my board today, but there was a small problem. Pin #20 was pretty brittle and when I carefully lifted the chip from the board I noticed that pin was bent a little funny and when I touched it it fell off. Here is a pic: Is this pin the ground pin? The way this IC chip is built, the metal leg is attached to a surface contact area and I should be able to solder a leg back on. Let me know what you would do in this situation. I will probably try and fix it myself unless you have a better way you can suggest. | |

| It's super easy to solder on a new pin don't let that worry you. And yes pin 20 is ground. I can fix it no problem. | |

| I'm still waiting on a few things, but it won't be long until I start sending the materials. I'll probably send you the ppu first so you can test it out, then if all goes well we can go from there. | |

| There was recently an auction with ALOT of nintendo arcade machine chips. The owner wrote that there was atleast 4 PPU's in the lot and could be even more.
Unfortunately I lost but I wonder if anyone here was the lucky person who won?

yikes, certainly wasn't me. I remember when I used to win playchoice pcbs for 50$ shipped because they were untested.

| yup thats what i did. no way i was going to blow out an rp2c03 on building my nes.
the 2c04 is great for testing out your system and its not worth a small fortune and you wont miss it if something goes wrong.
