Since I had one rare winter gold with a ntsc lockout chip installed and wired up to take an eprom I was torn between which game to install in the cart. The winter gold pcb is special because it has a battery saving circuit, a super fx 2 chip, and the most ram found in a superfx cart. Really the winter gold cart is the ultimate superfx donor. Only two superfx games have saving ability and that's stunt race fx and starfox 2. Starfox 2 only saves high score but I could just take a screenshot of any high score if I really wanted. Stunt race fx really needs the battey saving circuit stunt race has a lot of unlocks. After trying both games wired into the cart I decided to make it a dedicated stunt race fx cart. I have nice cases with professional labels for both starfox 2 and stunt race fx (I even custom designed the stunt race fx label myself). So it was just a matter of deciding which game to install in this rare cart. This cart is one of a kind since winter gold is a rare game. Winter gold is rare because it was only released in pal countries and nobody bought it because it was an absolutely horrible game.
Anyway here's a playthrough of stunt race fx on a gsu 2 that's been overclocked to 30 mhz. I play through the hardest speed track course in the game and get first place in all tracks. I chose stunt race fx over starfox 2 because I can easily install starfox 2 into a doom donor cart and it will be perfectly fine to play. Also I do think that stunt race fx is more fun than starfox 2 it's more of an interactive experience. Any faster than 30 mhz and the game would periodically freeze. You can see in this video that the framerate is pretty good. I would have preferred to get the framerate better than this but it's atleast a lot more playable than the original cart.
