If, you do not know what this is I do not blame you.
It, is a device that let's you backup snes games on floppy disk's.
O, the 90's how much I miss you
Any way's the issue I was haveing was disk error wcw or basically the system could not detect the floppy drive.
That was strange because I had the power supply pluged into it.
The Fix
The Tool's
1.7805 voltage regulator X1
2. PH.1 screwdriver
3.thermal paste
Step 1
Flip the system on the back so it looks like this
and remove all 9 screw's and remember the 4 small screw's are for holding the floppy drive in place while
the 5 larger screw's are for holding the case together.
Step 2
Check and see if your Game Doctor SF III has the 16mb expansion like so
Step 3
Remove top cover so it look's like this
Step 4
Remove the floppy drive by disconnecting the power and ide cables.
* the floppy dive in mine is not the original because the one that was in it was rusted and nasty.
Step 5
Remove the motherboard from the bottom case and look at tje bottom side of the motherboard
Step 6
De solder the old 7805 and replace it with the new 7805
* note when your going to re attach the heat sink put some thermal paste on the back of the 7805 use
just a pea size dot and clean off the extra paste off the heat sink
Step 7
Reassemble and see if the system now work's and does not give you that error.
Step 8
Be a pirate and copy your snes cart's to floppy sicks
once the system is working correctly
IF your screw up or little johnny set's the house on fire I will not be help reasonable .
Extra worth while notes
The bios can be upgraded to 3.3C if your Game Doctor SF III has a earlier bios
link to the 3.3c bios http://www.coolrom.com/roms/snes/3171/Game_Doctor_SF_III_V3.3C_BIOS.php
Snes cart's have a limitation when it comes to copying them to the floppy on this unit
dps1, or other games that need special chips will not work on the unit. Some games have anti pirate so
when you start the game on the floppy you get a warning. Also, some game's show up 0 mb you can't copy the game.
The system has no u7 chip so maybe it can be modded to handle game's that need the dps1 chip
My unit has 32mb while earlier unit's had only 16mb you
can get the 16mb upgrade from
